NSA Codes of Conduct
Ethical guidelines - POINT OF DEPARTURE
The Codes that follow serve as guidelines for behaviour to members in the field and on the range. The Codes constitute an important part of the training and education emphasis for NSA members in respect of firearms safety.
The NSA Firearm Safety Code and the NSA General Code of Conduct should be read together with the NSA Disciplinary Code, which describes disciplinary procedures and which constitute the Association?s enforcement component of the Ethical guidelines and Rules re the expected conduct of members of the Association while practicing their sport under the auspices and banner of the NSA.
The National Shooting Association has taken policy decisions on several issues pertaining to firearm safety, ownership, and codes for behaviour in the field and on the range, and has managed to change certain public perceptions regarding sport shooting and hunting in general.
Members of the Executive of the NSA have also made important recommendations to central and provincial governments in the past, so as to improve the ethics related to, and the image of hunting and shooting, as well as in respect of conservation and sustainable utilisation of renewable natural resources.
